Sheila McLuckie

As a child I loved drawing and Art at secondary school but in retiral I have found time to paint using acrylics and watercolours . I find painting relaxing and enjoyable. It makes you focus on the moment and I get such a thrill when someone likes a painting and wants to have it in their home.

I enjoy painting with my grandchildren and we paint stones, bookmarks and slates to raise funds for children in Meru near Mt Kenya. Since 2008 my first of four visits , with loads of support from Broughty Ferry and Meru folk ,we have built and furnished St Stephens kindergarten; built and equipped classrooms at Limbene PS and supported Kiaritha school as well as working with teenage mums at ciford. Funds from my paintings have supported this work.

I’ve also collected toiletries monthly since 2020 for Women’s aid, women in the Criminal justice system and Salvation Army. I deliver anything left at my door in the middle of each month.
